Survey is Out

My internship experience took a different direction during the past couple of weeks or should
I say an extention to my internship. I was selected to present "Using Skype in the Classroom" session at the NCTies 2009 conference in Raliegh. This presentation took several weeks to develop and I thought that it was taking away from my internship experience but in reality it was just another step in my professional development. The vast amount of information I obtained at the conference and have brought back to my staff is just the new blood our professional staff development needed. After returning from conference and describing some of the sessions I attended has brought new excitement, regarding technology, to our staff.

I have now created a survey, in SurveyMonkey.com, to present to the staff to get their ideas of what types of technology staff development they would like to receive to enrich and enhance their classrooms. Hopefully I will have all the results by the end of this week and be able to create a schedule of the requested PD workshops I need to offer.

Feb 9, 2009 Update

Met with a few of the faculty and staff to explain what I will be trying to accomplish this semester at ASU. My ideas seemed to spark some interest. I will present it to the the entire staff next Tuesday at the faculty meeting. After the presentation I will create a survey and poll the entire staff anonymously with in the next few days. This survey should show me what my staff is needing in the area of technology. My goal is to help them succeed in their classrooms. I want this to meet their agenda not mine.
